What Does godaddy.com Offer Me?

Godaddy.com has their hand in a few different aspects of website creation. Their main, and most popular service is  their domain hosting and selling. Godaddy.com has been around for 20 years selling and managing domain names, so they sure know what they are doing, but the latest and greatest offering is their website builder.

Godaddy.com’s web site builder is ideal for anyone from a lawyer to a musician, and from a teacher to a dentist, anyone should be able to use the website builder to create a creative website that will get you online quickly. The support is paramount, and the user interface extremely easy to navigate and use, making it easy for any beginner to get a website up and running.

All the tools within the website builder are drag and drop, and you’re able to place text and illustrations anywhere you please with no restrictions or guidelines. There are over 300 professional designs for every industry out there. Many of these themes come with pre-built content, so all you have to do is replace that content with your own. No need to confuse your self with what goes where.

Besides being smooth and easy to use, the platform is built on “what you see is what you get”. This means that when you are customizing your site, what you’re looking at is what your customer will be looking at when you post your website. No having to visit your site and ensure your changes look right to the customer.

The website builder on godaddy.com is very small and simple, yet to the point. It provides you only with the tools needed to get a basic website up and running. This keeps it very simple for the newbie who is unsure and overwhelmed by numerous tools they won’t need. It also comes with the basic functions to optimize your content for SEO.

There is an additional upsell for more SEO functions beyond whats included. It comes with:

  • Access to keyword and topic suggestion;
  • Rich snippet and Market generator;
  • 1-click submission to all major search engines;
  • SEO checklists and ranking reports.

Within your website building membership, all your hosting is included. This allows you more time to focus on what’s important, such as your content and website design rather then security updates and hosting technicalities.

What Is Support Like?

The support within godaddy.com is one of the better I’ve seen over many different website building sites. The support is 24/7 365 days a year. You can pick up a phone and reach someone from godaddy.com within minutes (average wait 10-15 min). If you wanted to chat something more instant, you could go for their live chat, which will connect you with someone from godaddy.com asap. If you weren’t in a rush and wanted to try something a little slower, they also have e-tickets for support where they usually get back to you within half a day.

They also offer tons of perviously answered questions on their support library. Any one of these support metrics are available to you no matter what style package you choose, or how much you pay for your package. Godaddy.com doesn’t discriminate, if you are a customer, you have access to all the same support as anyone else!

What I Like About Godaddy.com

  • huge support system
  • Ability to back up your websiteImage result for pro con
  • Pre-built content for beginners – just replace the content with your own
  • Builder has SEO functions and offers a upsell for additional SEO functions
  • Free domain name with membership purchase
  • All website hosting included

What I Didn’t Like About Godaddy.com

  • Once you pick your theme, you cannot change it without losing content
  • No training on how to utilize your site as a revenue building business (click here for free training)
  • Once you build your site with godaddy.com, you cannot move your content to another hosting site

My Godaddy.com Conclusion

Overall, godaddy.com has a simple and creative website builder that will get you a professional and easy to maintain site for your business. The price is reasonable, and all the necessary tools are there. Best of all, you have the option of trying any package out for free for the month!

I rated godaddy.com a 80/100 because they have unlimited support options, hundreds of themes to choose from, and a sleek user interface that any beginner can learn to master. Anyone could use this site to get a basic website up and going without any experience needed.

If you’re looking to utilize your website as a affiliate, and are new to affiliate marketing, I wouldn’t go with godaddy.com because of the lack of training included within their memberships. There are other websites that will teach you to build a website, host your website, and have you making money on that website by the end of the year with a very similar membership option as godaddy.com provides.

Be careful committing yourself to godaddy.com, as once you’ve committed to a theme and started building content, you will be unable to move your website to another hosting site. However, feel free to give it a try, as godaddy.com offers a very fair refund policy!

  1. I been looking to see godaddy offer. With so many hosting company and options to choose from I want to make sure I compare the different plans carefully.

I like that you made it easy for me to make an option. I never know that the hosting company integrated with PayPal, i always thought the site owner took care of that button?

    1. Hello!

Yes! Reviews are great when you’re looking to make an informed decisions about certain products and services. I appreciate you taking the time to read through my godaddy review! I enjoy doing these reviews and getting to the “meat” of a product or service. There’s so many different services and programs looking to take advantage of you. It’s good that godaddy is not one of them!

      Cheers!

  2. Hi Alanna.

I’ve often wondered about godaddy and what exactly is on offer from them when I’ve seen their adverts on TV.

After reading your review I have a much clearer picture on what is offered and to me it sounds fantastic.

Would you personally say it’s worth using godaddy?

I see the cons you’ve explained about but with 80/100 rating it’s still pretty good right?

    1. Hello!

First of all, thanks for reading my review! I am happy you’ve found some useful information! Godaddy is a very useful site not only for domain purchasing but  for building your own website. Godaddy is an extremely useful tool to use if you’re a experienced affiliate marketer. However, for someone starting out who’s look for training there are other programs that will walk you through the steps. If you’re confident in what you’re doing, I highly suggest godaddy!

      Cheers!

  3. Hey Brooke! I had a godaddy account a couple of years back and I would rate it around the same as you did! I was very frustrated once I found out how easy it was to lose content. I switched over to a different company (your #1 recommendation) with much faster hosting and an awesome website builder.
    Thanks for all the info!

    1. hey there!

Yes lots of great things about godaddy.com that will create success for most people but it is a shame that once you create content with godaddy.com that you can’t move it anywhere else. I always want people that if they want to go with godaddy.com that they are prepared to invest everything into them!

Glad you found something that works for you!

  4. On the outside, it does seems like GoDaddy has many great features for starting an online business. I’ve used it before and found a major flop.

Do you know that there’s no blogging feature in the website builder? This means, there are very limited content that you can publish and with that, comes the lack of SEO despite the default settings.

Honestly, I don’t think such builders can rank well on the search engines. One might be better of using WordPress although it comes with a bit of learning curve.

    1. Hey Cathy!

Welcome back! Yes I totally agree with what you’re saying. Godaddy is more suited for someone who perhaps isn’t looking to make money online or have their site ranked, they just want a site to play around with as a hobby. Although godaddy would be a runner up in regards to a website builder, it is by far the greatest out there. What really got me was the fact that once you started your site with godaddy, there’s absolutely no way to move your content and website to a different building platform. This makes me nervous for people starting out with godaddy, because if they don’t like it they are kind of stuck, and depending how long they’ve been at It, could lose a lot of hard work and energy!

As always thanks for providing such excellent feedback on my post!

      Have a great day!

  5. I’ve tried GoDaddy website builder before and personally, I don’t think it’s a good publishing platform. Correct me if I am wrong, but I remember correctly that they don’t have a blogging feature. How can you possibly achieve good SEO without blog content? This certainly will not work for affiliate marketers.

As for local businesses, I’ve seen a few built on this platform and they are not the most impressive. Most have very plain look they don’t really teach you how to rank on local search anyways. So you are literally building a site that people couldn’t find on Google.

    1. Welcome back Cathy!

Yes, although GoDaddy is a popular platform to use in order to create a website, it is not the most ideal platform to build your website on, and you could end up negatively impacting your site and its rankings.

In comparison, using Wealthy Affiliate allows you to take advantage of the many features that GoDaddy simply does not provide.

      Cheers,

      Brooke
